HOW CAN YOU HELP? - JOIN OUR MATCH FOR A YEAR CAMPAIGN

Our Match for a year campaign was started last year, taking a cue from our Live Auction over the last three years. We had such a great response from our attendees that we decided to make a Match for a Year Sponsorship available all year long. Basically, it costs $1,500 to match a child for one year. Those costs are associated with conducting background checks on volunteers to ensure child safety; and providing ongoing support for children, families and volunteers that builds long- lasting relationships.

Since our inception in 1975, our agency has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. Through no fault of their own, the children in our program have various strikes against them such as residing in single-parent and low-income households. Some have a parent who is incarcerated. Others are being raised by a grandparent or another relative.

Big Brothers Big Sisters staff assign meaningful, professionally monitored matches between carefully screened adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”). Our system of ongoing evaluation and support is proven by independent studies to help families by improving the odds that “Littles” will perform better in school, avoid violence and illegal activities, and have stronger relationships with parents and others. We approach each day with our mission statement in mind: “To provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally support 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever”

Your donation will support existing matches, as well as engage more youth with Big Brothers or Big Sisters who can share those little moments together that spark imagination and delight in a child and foster a vision for a successful future. The support you have shown by your donation, coupled with the dedication of our staff and volunteers, contributes to a positive outcome for our community, one child at a time.
